Water: 54°. Water temp was between 48-54 this weekend where we fished. Did catch a few nice males but only 1 was milking, I’d imagine most have spawned already. Decent weekend of fishing, 4 nice eater walleyes and a slot (23”). Jig and a minnow on the first 2 and ripping rap worked nice and slow on the other 2.

Waxing Gibbous. Barely avoided the skunk getting a nice rainbow off the rigger spoon set at 70 in 165 feet of water. It was a smooth start fishing 7:30- 11 AM, but the wind picked up and the rigger popped around 10 o'clock. Not many boats and the other guys coming in at the same time had no fish. The blue ladderback magnum spoon saved the day.Baitfish. We went out salmon fishing on Lake Michigan last night. We saw hardly anything on the locator. We figured at this time of year that the salmon would be in close as they get ready for staging up the river. So we fished in 40 to 60 ft of water assuming we would find things but we found hardly anything at all.

Alewives are loaded along the shorelines near and South of the harbor in 15-30 FOW. Coho seem to be getting caught more and more on coho rigs than body baits now. Fished Okauchee the day before the opener and caught 4 bass one 19.5 inch 4.5-pound bass and two 18-inch bass on Friday along with some crappie and gills. Water temp was 62.9°F. Nothing exciting to report, only found the usual logs and a few things to look closer at with the camera when the water clears up.
